Apple reportedly has three more iOS 27 features coming in the fall
Apple is still holding some of its iOS 27 cards close to its chest. Beyond the upcoming teasers shown off at WWDC 2026, 's Mark Gurman reported that there are three more unannounced features coming with iOS 27. In the newsletter, Gurman said Apple is working on a new watch face, a customizable Camera app and functionality for third-party chatbots within Siri. Gurman said he's unsure why these feature weren't shown off, but some of them are confirmed as they already exist within the developer beta for iOS 27. According to Gurman, a new watch face will likely arrive when Apple refreshes its smartwatches in the fall. Previous rumors detailed that an upcoming watch face could be based on the Modular Ultra option that's exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra, but one that's more simplified and designed for the other Apple Watch products.
5 small but clever Apple AI features that actually look useful
PCWorld highlights Apple's practical AI features launching this fall, including Visual Intelligence for scanning restaurant bills and splitting costs via Apple Cash. Call Context uses Apple Intelligence to automatically display account numbers and confirmation codes during customer service calls, eliminating awkward pauses. Apple Wallet now offers a "create a pass" tool that generates digital passes from physical cards using barcode and QR code scanning. Apple mostly steered clear of the big, dumb AI announcements we often see at the big tech keynotes -- you know, things like AI pop song generators, AI-generated avatars, and virtual AI try-on tools that make for great headlines but aren't all that practical. OK, so Apple did indulge in "look at this!" AI tomfoolery, like photo-retouch tools that can wipe groups of people out of the frame and a revamped Image Playground app that can essentially deep-fake your friends (ugh). That said, Apple also unleashed a series of smaller Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features (all due to arrive this fall) that might actually be useful on a daily basis. Here are five of my favorites.
Do You Actually Need to Pay for Transcription Software?
Do You Actually Need to Pay for Transcription Software? I tested Wispr Flow and various AI-powered transcription software to see whether you should bother subscribing or stick with free services. The pitch--that you'll be able to write faster by talking out loud instead of typing-- is compelling, especially if you're a slow typist. The marketing promises you'll be able to write at the speed of thought, 4x faster than your keyboard. I already type faster than I can think.
Apple to pay 250m to iPhone buyers over AI features lawsuit
Apple has agreed to pay some iPhone buyers a collective $250m (ยฃ184m) to end a lawsuit accusing the company of misleading people about new artificial intelligence (AI) features and capabilities. In a settlement filed Tuesday in California federal court, Apple did not admit any wrongdoing, but agreed to a deal that will resolve claims in a large consolidated class action lawsuit filed last year. It accused Apple of false advertising around its AI features on the iPhone, which the company called Apple Intelligence, including an enhancement of its Siri voice assistant. Apple will pay between $25 and $95 to people who bought an iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 between June 2024 and March 2025. An Apple spokeswoman said the lawsuit was focused on the availability of two additional features in a lineup of many released as part of its Apple Intelligence rollout.
Tim Cook's Legacy Is Turning Apple Into a Subscription
Tim Cook's Legacy Is Turning Apple Into a Subscription The soon-to-exit Apple CEO went all in on services. Now, the incoming CEO, John Ternus, will need to embrace the AI era. Tim Cook's tenure as CEO at Apple, which is coming to a close September 1, will likely be defined by operational efficiency and financial growth, ushering Apple into its trillion-dollar era. But his most significant achievement might be in doubling down on Apple's services business, which includes iCloud, the App Store, Apple Music, Apple TV+, News+, and more. It's the subscription layer on top of iOS, and almost all of the service apps are tightly integrated with Messages, the glue that keeps people stuck to their iPhones .

An AI pin is beneath Apple
Bungie's Marathon arrives on March 5 How to claim Verizon's $20 outage credit Apple needs a better Siri, not an unproven wearable. So it's come to this: Apple is reportedly working on a wearable AI pin . According to, it is going to be a small device with multiple cameras, a speaker, microphones and wireless charging. It sounds like the perfect gadget to pair with the long-awaited AI-powered Siri update, which will also reportedly work as a chatbot . Apple turns to Google to power AI upgrade for Siri
Improvements to a number of Apple services - including a more personalised version of its virtual assistant, Siri - are to be powered with AI provided by Google. The tech giants have announced a multi-year collaboration which will see the iPhone-maker base some of its key tech on Google's Gemini AI models. In a joint statement, the two firms said the partnership would unlock innovative new experiences for Apple users. However, experts say it demonstrates how Apple's cautious approach to building and rolling out its own AI tools has left it reliant on other companies. By outsourcing the foundational layer of its AI to Google, Apple is effectively admitting that its internal efforts couldn't compete with Google's Gemini in terms of capability and scale in the short term, IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo said.
